Not only was it the first film to ever sell out an 11pm screening, it earned itself a 96 per cent audience approval rating. Fantastic news ahead of Saturday's Sydney screening at the Chauvel Cinema.

    For one night only Alejandro Jodorowsky's mind-melting spiritual journey The Holy Mountain is playing at the Chauvel Cinema on a brand new 35mm print.

    Considered by many to be the greatest experimental film ever made The Holy Mountain is a barrage of sacrilegious imagery. Made in Mexico in 1971 and produced by Beatles manager Allen Klein the film boasts outlandish sets and costumes as rich in detail and bizarre as the plotline.

    Alejandro JodorowskyThis Friday's 11pm screening of Alejandro Jodorowsky's cult masterpiece The Holy Mountain has completely sold out. All 645 seats at the RMIT Capitol Theatre have been sold. The Holy Mountain is screening as part of the 56th Melbourne International Film Festival. This is the first time in the history of the Festival that a late night screening has EVER sold out.
