Renowned film critic and documentary filmmaker Megan Spencer is presenting a special screening of Jisoe this Saturday afternoon at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI).
Revolving around the world of Melbourne graffiti artist Justin Hughes (aka Jisoe) Eddie Martin’s engaging documentary delves deep into the writer’s world. Going beyond a simple exploration of an artistic subculture the film is a close-up insight into an under-class that exists in Melbourne and is rarely heard from so directly.
Jisoe screens with the 30 minute doco ‘A Dollar for the Good Ones’, a profile of two friends and their unending quest for golf balls. This is what Megan had to say about the two films:
“In my opinion they are two of the best, most significant documentaries to be produced in Australia of recent years.”
