TRIPLE J PONDERS JODOROWSKY

05 Feb 2008

El TopoThe mysterious and wonderful world of Alejandro Jodorowsky is the subject of the latest Film Ed 101 series on Triple J. The Film Ed 101 series is a regular two-and-a-half minute repeated brief on various aspects of old and new cinema, television and new media with critic Marc Fennell.

In this episode Marc explores Jodorowsky's philosophy of Initiation Cinema, where he doesn't tell the audience what to think or feel about the film.

Back in September last year we did a live phone link-up with Alejandro after a screening of The Holy Mountain. The interview was conducted by cult movie icon Jaimie Leonarder, who explored with Jodorowsky the ‘universless' themes of his flims.

Jodorowsky's films El Topo and The Holy Mountain are out now, so too is the deluxe boxed collection The Films of Alejandro Jodorowsky, which includes the two aforementioned films, his debut feature Fando y Lis, two soundtrack CDs, and a 56-page booklet of photos and script pages.
