  • WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE (SORT OF)!

    13 May 2010

A few of you may have read the panicked press release posted online last month from Eric P. Sherman of Bang Zoom! Entertainment. Distressed and largely alarmist, the post set forums into a spin around the world. Add to this the recent (read: distorted) piece on ABC TV's Dateline program regarding anime's homeland decline  ("Suspended Animation") and you have some blazing debate amongst fans.

We received an email earlier this week from blogger Nick de Pozo regarding our Ichiban/Eigo releases, pointing us to this post on his blog. A retort of sorts to Sherman's anxieties and with general eye of scepticism, it's essential reading for anyone interested in how you'll get your anime in the very near future.

The market and audience for anime may be shrinking in Japan, but it seems to be growing elsewhere...and as long as there's interesting shows coming out that we find exciting and worthy of attention, we'll be here!

Let us know your feelings, eh?
