I'm very disappointed this box set has been issued, with all due respect! For the first six series that were issued on DVD originally, [4 discs per set] I paid the premium price. Of course, I'm glad SIREN decided to try again, and issue the entire set in a newer and better [this time 3 discs] format - so naturally I bought the four series I needed, and I'm happy to own all 128 episodes, but this box set leaves me deflated, with a ripped-off feeling, I'm sorry to say!

How about the Phantom Agents in a box set?

Hi Adrian - The original Samurai DVD's were taken from different masters and released almost ten years ago with only English audio. Naturally we wanted to release a definitive edition when news of brand-new masters were available to us, not to mention the original Japanese soundtrack. The new editions are far superior in every aspect and were very expensive to produce.

We've also made the box and cards available to own in case you have already purchased the individual sets... http://www.sirenvisual.com.au/Product/424.php

Cool, I didn't relise you could buy the box & cards by itself.

P.S. I second the idea of Phantom Agents on DVD (especially if it gets the same treatment that The Samurai got).

I love the samurai set, it does bring back lots of memories as child. Thank you for the Japanese soundtrack, its great. I too would love to see the phantom agents on DVD. If you can try that would be great too. Thank you again for a graet set.

Thankyou for producing this Samurai boxed set. However, I would like to ask what happened to the original opening sequences to this series as the ones on your set are not as I remember them and seem to be a generic opening produced for this set! For example the first story (series)'Spy Swordsman' has absolutley no ninja in it al all yet the opening sequences on your set have the opening original opening for 'Iga Ninja'. The opening sequences on your set seems to be cobbled together from series footage with new text as well. It is good to have this series in a box but the originals would have been better particulary for those who grew up with this series like myself. Thanks - Michael

Hi Michael - I can assure you that the opening sequences have not been produced for this set and are presented exactly how they were archived in Japan. I'm not sure what 'new text' is in reference to, however if you'd like to further explain any grievances, send us an email - info@sirenvisual.com.au
