Hideo, an art student, is painting a portrait of Tomie. Suddenly and abruptly, Tomie destroys Hideo's portrait of herself. In a moment of rage, Hideo picks up an art knife and attacks Tomie, killing her. When an uninvited strange who resembling similar features to Tomie turns up at a party, strange things begin to happen.
