Seeking to escape a life of servitude in marriage renowned scholar Yu Yuan-gi (Patricia Ha) pursues a monastic life as a Taoist priestess as a means to keep her independence. However, the temptations of the outside world prove too strong as Yu socialises with the upper classes, carries on an affair with a wandering swordsman, and seduces her maid. As these liaisons continue to grow and expand Yu’s world quickly begins to spiral out of control.
