Reputedly the top swordsman in the underworld, Third Master (Derek Yee) has grown weary of the hundreds of challengers who continually confront him in a bid to take his place. Seeking a new, quiet life he fakes his own death and changes his name.

Things are not that simple, with the arrival of peerless swordsman Yen Shin-san (Ling Yun), who has been convinced to challenge Third Master in revenge for the deaths of many of the former challengers. Discovering the Third Master’s death was fake Shin-san purses him relentlessly until their final, bloody meeting.
